The Union County Communications Department is divided into two divisions, communications and addressing.

The communications unit receives and dispatches all 911 and non-emergency calls for the Union County Sheriff’s Department, City of Union Public Safety Department, Jonesville and Carlisle Police Departments, Union County Rescue Squad, Union County Minutemen Rescue Team, and 11 volunteer fire departments. The division also relays calls to the SC Highway Patrol.

The addressing division is responsible for maintaining the county’s 911 database by issuing all new addresses, naming and mapping all new roads, and coordinating information with telephone companies and US Postal Service.
